The most expensive of the diamond has just been sold off. The credit for bringing this exclusive diamond under the hammer goes to Sotheby’s which has been able to sell this 59.6 carat diamond famously known as the “Pink Star” for $83.2 million.
The previous record for the costliest diamond ever to be auctioned had gone to a 24.68 carat diamond which was auctioned for $46 million. This was bought by Laurence Graff in 2010. This auction by Sotheby’s follows Christie’s sale of an orange diamond which was auctioned for $36 million. This 14.82 carat diamond commanded the highest price for a carat that was ever paid at any auction.
