All good things must come to an end. As the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has been a good thing – a very good thing, in fact – ever since its debut in 2009, it, too, is subject to this rule of thumb. Production will cease after 2014, but in order go out with a bang, the last 350 examples off the line will be built as this: the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Final Edition.
Final edition’s paintwork will include the familiar red and black finish. Though lot of details of the car not released with the press announcement, automaker noted some components like hood and front splitter are made of carbon fiber. A redesigned front bumper, and new brakes are also on the card.
Mechanical package expected to be the same as 2013 edition. Means, it will feature a 6.3-liter V8 front-mid engine that produces a peak power of 591 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 in 3.7 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 198 mph.
Car will debut at Los Angeles Motor Show next week, at which time we can expect more details on the make-up of the car and pricing.
