The Palapa at Mukul is cool: instead of cutting down trees to build it, they shipped in these nanciton pilars left over from Hurricane Mitch in 1998 that were just sitting as debris since on the Atlantic side. Paul Duesing is of course responsible for the stunning decor. A Mexican architect created the first oval-shaped palapa in Central America. There's 128 lil baskets up there, all hand-woven by local artisans of Nicaragua!

Mukul Luxury Resort & Spa features a total of 37 rooms including, 12 one and two bedroom Beach & Ocean Front Villas with an area ranging from 955 sq ft to 2,620 sq ft plus terrace, and 23 Bohios with an area of 1,165 sq ft. including terrace.

The essence of Mukul’s hospitality philosophy, is Casona Don Carlos. Located adjacent to the Beach Villas, the oceanfront compound features a 20,000 sq-ft indoor-outdoor living area with a soaring 80-foot-high palapa ceiling, four bedroom suites and a large private swimming pool.

The Spa Mukul includes six experiences housed in six individual, private spa suites, each equally harnessing a different ancient healing tradition, often using local Nicaraguan ingredients. This isn't a spa where you check in at the front desk or wait in reception. Instead, you are personally escorted to your pre-booked private spa for the day.
