Sotheby's NY Jewels Auction Highlights Important Diamonds

Sotheby’s is going to offer on September 24 in New York pieces from both estate and private collections. Some important jewels that will be offered on the auction are, a19.51-carat, E, VVS2, type IIa emerald-cut diamond ring by Harry Winston from the family of real estate developer and philanthropist George Rothman. Highlight of the auction will be Rothman diamond ring that has a presale estimate of $1.2 million to $1.8 million. 



Additional auction highlights include a platinum and diamond double-clip pendant-Brooch, by Schlumberger, which is set with marquise-shaped diamonds weighing 5.22 and 5.28 carats, both E, VS1 and with a presale estimate of$200,000 to $300,000. The 18-karat gold, blackened gold, and colored diamonds, diamonds and ruby dog brooch, by Boivin has a presale estimate of $70,000 to $90,000.





Jewels from the Rothmans feature pieces that are signed by Bulgari, David Webb and Van Cleef & Arpels and include a second diamond ring by Harry Winston, featuring a 15.10-carat, D, VVS2, potentially internally flawless, typeIIa pear, set in platinum and estimate to fetch between $1.25 million and $1.75 million. A 9.77-carat, D, internally flawless platinum and diamond ring from the ”Property of a Lady, Texas” collection is estimated to sell for $800,000 to $1.2 million.
