A perfect beach will include the perfect ingredients like sand, sun and surf- which provide a haven for beach enthusiasts.  National Geographic has gone ahead and identified the best beaches on the planet with surreal surroundings, crystal clear water and pristine beaches that are the perfect spot for relaxing and rejuvenating and being close to nature.  No matter which sort of beach you prefer, you will definitely find your kind of beach from this list of the top five luxurious beaches in the world:

Seychelles

Seychelles has the most photographic beaches in the world, many of which are often featured in magazines.  The mesmerizing pinkish sands of Anse Source d’Argent sparkle like stars against the huge and rugged granite boulders.  The turquoise blue water is quite shallow and protected by a reef.

Maldives

Maldives, the country made out of 26 atolls, is a dream destination for a beach holiday as it has some of the most amazing resorts that offer a variety of activities.  From swimming alongside exotic fish underwater to snorkeling and scuba diving- there are a host of activities that one can indulge in.  The picturesque archipelago with palm fringes is the perfect destination for the adventurous sorts.

Bora Bora, Tahiti

Bora Bora is something that we have often heard of in magical stories, however, in reality, it is an island that is a part of French Polynesia in the South Pacific.   Bora Bora is only 29 kilometers in length with a lagoon surrounding it.  The white sand of the beach at Matira Point is the perfect place for the solitary tourist or honeymooners as this ‘Romantic Island’ promises a lot of privacy along with romantic surroundings.

Lanikai Beach, Hawaii

Hawaii is known for its amazing beaches; however, Lanikai Beach takes the cake as being the most luxurious Hawaiian beach of them all!  This beach runs for half a mile and is fringed by palm trees with sparkling white sand that looks like silver dust.  The beach has lush tropical plantation and abundant sunshine which have rightly made Lanikai one of the best beaches in the world.  The surf of the beach is quite calm owing to the adjoining coral reef.  The perfect green hue of the water and the green surroundings make this one of the most photographed beach.

The Hamptons, New York

One of the hip spots for the air-kissing, well-heeled set, the Hamptons boast some of the prettiest beaches on Long Island. The unspoiled shoreline begins around Southampton and runs east to the end of the island at Montauk. Windswept dunes and waving grasses border the Atlantic Ocean.
