Makepeace Island

What could be more romance-inspiring than an adventure to a remote part of an exotic county – especially when it’s to stay on an island shaped like a heart? The Australian home of Sir Richard Branson and a sanctuary of seclusion upstream from world renowned Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Luxuriously accommodating up to 22 castaways, Makepeace offers a unique fusion of luxury, nature and authentic Balinese design creating an idyllic place to escape and unwind.

Naturally heart-shaped island is very near to the Sunshine coast and can be reached easily by a quick riverboat. To make your stay luxurious and unforgettable, the island has a 500,000 liter lagoon pool, spa, bar, pavilion, tennis court, beach areas, nature walks and a two story open aired Balinese bamboo villa.

This 25 acre island can accommodate around 22 guests in the Bali house with three separate master suites or one of three bures on the island. The indoor decors and gardens include teak, life-size sculptures, enormous volcanic boulder bathtubs, antiques and plenty of ornate lighting and furniture commissioned and acquired in Bali, Java and elsewhere throughout Indonesia.

Makepeace Island features 3 luxurious villas offering seclusion and privacy to guests. The villas have 2 spacious bedrooms, well-appointed bathrooms, separate lounge area and private deck.

You can also stay in Bali House accommodation wing, withs 4 luxurious rooms attached to the main entertaining Wantilan. Rooms have a well-appointed ensuite and private deck with either queen bed and twin king singles.

For many guests the Makepeace Island experience begins and ends around the table overlooking the spectacular lagoon pool and riverfront. Our Executive Chef & GM, Nick Jones formerly of Eustatia Island (South of Necker) in the British Virgin Islands will create culinary experiences in collaboration with you that will become a high point of your stay.
